There are insufficient opportunities in West Hawaiʻi for youth to engage in the performing arts due to lack of available programming and the cost of participation.

Aloha Theatre fills the gap by offering comprehensive and affordable arts education opportunities for youth ages 5-18. 

In addition, Aloha Theatre has provided tuition assistance for more than 5 years, in the form of discounts, scholarships, and volunteer work-trade opportunities. 

By formalizing the program we hope to increase our reach into the community and thereby increase participation in performing arts education. 

The Performing Arts Tuition Assistance Program (“PATAP”) seeks to provide tuition vouchers to students aged 5-18 enrolling in our regularly scheduled youth theatre classes, workshops and youth camps. 

Funds will support the operation of our youth programs by enabling Aloha Theatre to compensate instructors (teaching artists and assistants) in a manner consistent with their education and experience despite decreased tuition revenue.
