Meet the Instructor:

Shemaiah Quarles recently began teaching youth classes at Kona Dance and Performing Arts. In his short career, he has written, directed, assistant directed, assistant stage managed, and performed in over 8 countries.

Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Shemaiah's interest in theatre actually started when he saw a backstage crew and thought that they were the coolest people on earth. They had their headsets and they ran the show! A few years later he had his first audition and his passion took off.

Shemaiah received a BA in Theatre from Tennessee State University. Upon moving to Kona, he joined a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) group and traveled the globe from 2017-2021,  performing theatre and dance.

His desire is to revive the heart of the arts in Hawaii, seeing it, not just as entertainment, but as self expression. Shemaiah is excited to get to know the Aloha Theatre acting community!
